heat lightning haiku

by Maureen Glaude

in the lull
between fireworks “oohs”
heat lightning

08/17/2006

Author's Note: one I didn't enter in the July kukai for Tadpole but still like. Written after our July 1st celebrations, but works for July 4th too

Yup, works fine visually. Although I couldn't see them, last Saturday at Rasputin's I could hear and feel the vibration of the casino fireworks.

Mo, simply beautiful. You are a masterette at haiku. This is similar to one of my poems about July 4th...written many years ago. Appears that fireworks are universal.

I like your usage of heat lightning here, Maureen. I have the whole visual ... fireworks, ohhhs and heat lightning all in my head. Nicely done, Maureen.
