...inchoate completion... by Charlie Morgandaddy was more than a gene factory;
in distant silence, through mamas reining
he was larger than the picture frame.
mama formed three boys in
an image of her childhood.
we needed the palate.

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 08/20/06 at 03:11 AM gene factory... gees I wish ida thunk of that... clever and profound all at once which is a hellofa accomplishment. The poingnancy of this piece pierces the heart of many a man who has cried in the field of dreams. And then, the mama, thank God for mamas who love us past that dadgone lonliness. You done it again buddy. Beautiful! |
| Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 08/20/06 at 03:42 AM Chaz, you make me think of my own Dad ... "larger than the picture frame" and he doesn't stand much higher than my own 5'2" frame. This poem is beautifully done in few words. I had to laugh at the last line, "we needed the palate." Peace. ~~ Kyle Anne
