a seducing temptation by Melissa Arel
The world's trappings
with all its wrappings
of glitter and gold
can seem tempting
while your soul is emptying
that which you cannot hold.
Sin can be seductive -
yes even self-destructive,
a dead-end road
to inner clarity
pure sincerity
and all He has bestowed.

| Posted by Tim D Livingston on 08/04/06 at 04:45 PM I heard a preacher quote Martin Luther, "If you're going to sin, sin boldly!" I guess that means the sooner you get to the end of that dead end road the sooner you can return to inner clarity. I don't quite agree with the whole idea but there's some truth to it. That almost gives someone who is being tempted permission to go for it when they could turn and repent. God would rather us be hot or cold. Anyway, don't know where I was going with that but great work Lissakoss. |
