Fantasy is Sometimes Better Than Reality

by Christel Crews

If you were here
I'd have cooked dinner for two

And we'd snuggle on the couch
Listening to the rain fall
And the thunder boom

Discussing the days' highs and lows
Then debating over which movie
To view

But the best part of my night would be
Simply spending it with you

Author's Note: just another saturday night alone, watching tv in my pjs with the rain falling in the background... 3 years of this and it still feels like something is missing

What a beautiful melancholy picture.

Wow! As one single to another, this sounds very inviting. Ahhh...if relationships could only be kept so simple. Great poem again Chris; sure tugs on the heart strings.

This has a very clear, clean feel about it - no whining :) - although the longing is there - really an inviting evening, I must say.
