Dust and Wait

by Mary Ellen Smith

Eludes the vacuum cleaner hose

Bringing allergens to the nose.

Evidenced by all the sneezing

Coughing, crying, sighing, wheezing.

I dust it up with mops and such

But darn it all it’s just too much!

So, from dawn to dusk I fight the fight

And sleep on it all through the night.

Invisible mites that I can’t see

And the dust bunnies where’re they be.

Someday I know all will be clean

For dust and dirt will not be seen.

But till I walk through Heaven’s gate

Guess I’ll just have to dust and wait.

Terrific title. It is endless, isn't it. Sorry for your nose problems. :)

Humorous and clever reflection on a common chore!
