DownTown (revised)

by Fredrich Mohre

When you visit New Jersey
and you're dining in an Italian restaurant,
……Downtown….
You're raving that the meat loaf is the finest dish
that you ever got,
…….hand down…
If you find a gold tooth or a piece of a fedora,
then you know the search for Jimmy Hoffa's
finally over………

'Cause you have found………….

He's in your ground round,
And in the veal ragu.
Ground round,
and the lasagna too.
Ground round …ground round.

If you decide to have a toast,
perhaps a fine chanti.
Then you'll understand why
they never found old Jimmy's body

He's in your ground round,
and in the meat balls too…
Ground round, and the stromboli too…
Ground round…….ground round…

If you should run to the john
Soon after you are feeding;
You'll give the term "He passed away"
A total double meaning

Because you have found........

He's in your ground round..
Goodbye to our teamster boss,
Ground round…
He's covered in red clam sauce.

Ground round,
Even the hotdogs too…………

WHAT? WHAT? in the hotdogs??????
Oh, I'm glad I'm not a Jimmy Hoffa wiener,
That is something I'd not rather be.
For if I was a Jimmy Hoffa wiener
It meant the wise guys took good care of me……..

Ground Round.............
