Tango Notes by Julie AdamsMeeting upon the hardwood floors
feet shuffle at first, politely
finding a pace
of mirroring musical drifts
of drowsy nostalgia; in
lyrics that woo!
Each step she must anticpate,
measure the intent, intimately
flirting and flicking,
weaving a twisted path
of signature artistry
of timeless escape
as long as the music plays on...
With peaks and kicks
hinting at the abandon
of early masters
of its modern revival,
a poised heel slides back
to Argentina...

Posted by JD Clay on 06/07/06 at 02:19 AM There is something about the tango that gets the juices flowing. Your classy poem articulates each and every refinement and brings the sensual mood to life. I love the way you finished it off, sending the readers mind on a trip.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 06/08/06 at 04:30 PM Although I've never been much of a dancer, I can appreciate good poetry, in how it reflects an inspiration. I'd say this is a worthy match Jewels. Well done. |
