Let Me Rock You

by Kristina Woodhill

Let me rock you in the crescent of the moon
We can teeter totter gently to and fro
While this new moon back lights with its slivered glow
Let'’s recline here in her tilting smile of June

Let me rock you with a cheesy crooning tune
Make you giggle as I miss-hit every key
I'’ll regale you with a tale or two; I'’ll point out Hercules
As we float upon this lunar sea pontoon

Let me rock you in the crescent of the moon
We'’ll hold hands and slow-mo leap the craters deep
With our handy geo-hammers, we'’ll find treasures we can keep
Some booty for some trading with moon trolls that guard the runes

Let me rock you as your eyes seek further stars
We'’ll reach the crescent’s tipping-top at last
With our star boards from our backs, as the moon begins to wax
We’'ll ride her half pipe pell-mell down, then catch a passing comet from afar

Let me rock you in the crescent of the moon
'Til it'’s time to pop our chutes and drift back home, our trip complete
I will take you in my arms and gently rock you back to sleep
Let the moon spin round all on its own outside your room

Hi Kristina. This is such a delight. Playful, light and original. I read it like some wonderful comination of love poem, lullaby and child-song. Makes me feel like I've been somewhere...and want to go again. E-ticket, please! Thanks.

Yep, there sure is a thing about the moon. Lady Luna appears to have stolen your heart to praise her in the shining star of love.

I like the gentleness and kindness of the mood, and moon glow always has a subtle spine tingle to it that you evoke quite rightly here.

This feels like a lullabye... a soft, gentle lullabye.

This moon rock piece has a lyrical sense and would go that extra mile if put to music. Good stuff! pe4ce...
