So Far From Fine

by Sandy M. Humphrey

I am so far from fine
I can’t even see just
Stand on my tiptoes
Try to reach if I must
Seems like we’re falling
Into yesterday’s sin
Traveling down roads
Where we’ve already been
Retracing steps where
We took a wrong turn
Lessons were taught
Yet never learned

Outside I smile
Is it all just a ruse
As you spin your half truths
To confound and confuse
Conversation is futile
The tapes on rewind
There is a déjà vu’ door
Cracked open in my mind
A crossroads ahead will
Your choice and mine
Leave us both feeling
So far from fine

Author's Note: Sometimes I long for the days when everything was fine, just ****** fine...no longer delusional, looking for truth.

Hits so close to home, it's comical. What else can one do but laugh at the SNAFU that is our daily lives??? Adds a whole new meaning to "roll with the punches." Adds to favourites.

This one I can definitely relate to. I liked how you put this situation into words....it reminds me of my life. Excellent work!

I love the quick rhyming scheme of this, and the path into this not so fine relationship.
