Have a nice life by Tony YoungMy favourite book is untitled
its a diary of our years
it tells of love, happiness
laughter and tears
I flick the pages day by day
asking why should love just die
I came across a stormy night
then days of solitude and quiet
strange entries I read
"Daniel called today"
"will soon be on our way"
"this life all work no play"
the final entry March 18th
year seventeen, by you
no words but a picture
our picture torn in two

Posted by Rula Shin on 05/07/06 at 07:12 PM Yes, that line torn down is so thin. What once seemed wholely indestructible is now so easily torn apart. We have to interfere actively and to begin with a basic understanding, this alone can annihilate the existance of that line completely. Indeed, a sad memory recalled. |
Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 09/03/06 at 03:19 PM Extremely sad without self pity. Tony, you have this way of 'getting' to the reader by starting out strong and ending even stronger. Super! :) |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 11/06/06 at 01:58 AM Too sad.... very creative using the diary to show how this relationship changed over the years. Your writing is most effective - moving, direct, provoking response, for sure. |
