Spring Construction by Kristina WoodhillOut back, a spring construction crew
Design pre-writ, imprinted blue
Gleans from my winter
Garden cleaning
Strands and fibers
Gladly shared
No permits required
No inspectorÂ’s stapled stamp
No cranes need lift their roof
Already arching perfectly
Pure azure blue
And lit by sunÂ’s warm lamp
No palatial penthouse playhouse
With kitchen-of-the-year design
Or dens lined with new unread books
“Oh, Dah….ling, it’s just sooo divine!”
No rad color of the week
On walls so fab and so faux chic
No, none of that
Wistfully I admire and watch them
Wing my gardenÂ’s leavings
NatureÂ’s perfect weavings
To safe skyscraping lofts
And there, with coupled
Minimalist commitment
These family architects
Construct their
Simple
Nests

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 04/28/06 at 03:30 AM Oh! Would you guess I was having these same thoughts the past few days?! :) :) :)
I'm dancing in the glee of your poetry! Just dancing! And WOW yes! —isn't it amazing, the simpleness of what naturlings use? (I wonder for a moment if they'd agree with us - heh!) |

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/01/06 at 06:47 PM Superb descriptiveness throughout. I had a feeling it was about what it was about hehe. I especially like these lines: No palatial penthouse playhouse With kitchen-of-the-year design. Kudos!
