A WIFE
by Charles E MinshallA wife is a cook,
A housekeeper, a maid,
A lover, a partner,
A counselor, an aide.
She's a seamstress,
A chauffeur,
A shopper,
A go-for.
She's a nurse, a friend,
A companion at play.
She does these with love,
With love as her pay.
I wish I was a Sultan
One wife is so great,
How nice it would be
To snuggle with eight.
After thinking a bit,
That's not the right course.
All the yes Dears, yes Dears,
Would keep a man hoarse.
