Elizabeth Jill by Kristina WoodhillElizabeth Jill
I love you still
Although you outed me.
Your “Once upon a time”
Request
To write a poem,
“Just add the rest”
This said with smile
hid whimsically
behind your keyboard
far from me.
What have you done
To me?
My closed-tight mind
You opened wide
Now words spin round
They now decide
When I shall work
And play and sleep
At 3 a.m. I try to keep
My sanity as letters
Form the words that
Form the thoughts
That flow from me.
How do I stop this flood?
Elizabeth Jill
IÂ’ll love you till
The cows come home
Pink pigs fly by
A baby needs
No lullabye.
Until at last
My time is done
And words IÂ’ll
Need no more.

Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 01/08/06 at 06:13 AM so,... your friend has noticed before that many many words come 'long galloping and cantering all aloft and surrounding you, eh? ::: that's some whisker whispering that begs for the 'A Cat's Tale :) :) :) ::: ^_^ ::: Life with poets! ::: rolling on a river, you! ::: —love you JiLLions! |
Posted by Mara Meade on 01/09/06 at 05:33 PM This made my toes curl in delight! The twists, turns, and subtle little "gooses" that end up helping us express an inner voice.... this is precious. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/29/06 at 02:13 PM Poignant confirmation of an artistic friendship, that like your poems, will hopefully last millennia. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 08/25/07 at 12:24 PM How delightful, how amusing in the truest sense! I love the "smile hid whimsically
behind your keyboard far from me". Yes, yes, I can feel it too! How we inspire one another. I love this, and found in this folder... it makes me think she has encouraged your head to fill with words on this! Wonderful, with a musical, teasing poetic feel.
