Grief

by Lacy D Phillips

I shall listen to songs in minor keys
and hide The Prince in the north-facing room
amongst relics that guilt me with their presence.
The excersize bike points an accusing handlebar at my midsection
as I turn away from unfinished knitting and withered houseplants
to a bowl of ice cream and a movie to numb me.

Author's Note: Ah, the North Room, the depository for all my failures! The Prince here, refers to Harry Potter and The Halfblood Prince.

Sometimes ya gotta do it. It's a wonderful coping mechanism, so freeing when embraced! :)

Lacy, CONGRATULATIONS on POTD. You have certainly described the feeling well. Just seems like everything fades in the distance during this painful emotional journey.
