The Politics of the Word

by Ashok Sharda

An impression created a 'mood'
That evoked a word which stuck
Latching up doors and windows
Binding my world within
Now I'm stuck up in a word

There are words beyond this word
Beyond these walls there's a potential world
How do I break these walls
De-wording a word
When I am captive by the word?

I need an impression to obliterate an impression
To hammer a hole through these walls
To set me free from
The politics of the word

Yet all the words seem all the same
Shall I replace your specs if given the chance
To see through your eyes the same scene
The same scene you have seen umpteen times?

Must we learn to disinfect words from
The contagion of vanity and self-love?
Shall I let the words love me
Without ever falling in love?
Do I employ another word
To justify a word?

Words are barriers when heartbeats speak
Confining the body's tendency to convey
What our being senses of what is
Never let a word catch you on the wrong foot
Not one word is capable of leading
You on this pathless path

Is there not a word which can verbalize the
KNOWINGS emanating from the sources Wise?
Will unknown always remain unarticulated
Our SENSES unexpressed?
Can any word define the undefined?

Words are paths leading to preconceived lands
Pathless is truth beyond the world of words
Open yourself up to the essence
Emanating from sources unknown
Emanating all in this world of words
Remain wordless love
Onward on this march
Unwalked

Some interesting thoughts and ideas - a bit "wordy" for me but interesting nonetheless...

I love the juxtaposition of opposites here, the delicate balance between genius and madness as you ponder the words which will enable you to break free of the word.

or we could remain silent both inwardly and out, in thoughts and even in dreams and thus, perchance the words would dissolve in and of themselves which would dare hold us captive.

You approach your subject with familiar audacity and intensity. (Words can lie, but they also can tell the truth.) But yes, I believe there is truth beyond words (at least as yet created). Thought provoking as usual.
