No Words Were Spoken

by Kate Demeree

It was only in the shadows
You held me, loved me
In the brighter light of day
No words were spoken

I slipped quietly away

Now the trail I follow
Along a distant shore
Sometimes hears the echoes
Of paths I walked before

Fog shrouded,
Warmed by spring rain
Veiled in obscurity
Searching ever searching

For pieces of me

Haunting and beautiful words, Kate. It's nice to see you writing again...

Bittersweet gives way to hope and inspiration...that some may take flight from reading your words is a given! Beautiful poetry, Kate!
