America the Spokesman for God

by Max Bouillet

"...and who among us has the audacity to speak for God?"

The old rugged cross
wasn't made
from intersecting
baseball bats.

Apple pie
and Coca Cola
were not chosen
for the communion.

Why then,
does America
(a country
where the official
stand is to have
separation between church
and state)
claim such
extensive authority
over the
cause of Christ?

Author's Note: I'm already wearing the blindfold... will someone offer a smoke?

I'm flickin' the Bic, Brother, and tellin' 'em they can take me down with you. Amen and amen.

This is a wonderful, gentle, and artful confrontation to those who wish to make Him a present potentate based on an erroneous assumption that His might was muscular rather than spiritual. I too love the metaphors. Let's keep those bats swinging (Texas Rangers!!) and those hot dogs warm and mustardy and the cokes cheaper, but all in the ballpark. Oh say can you see that He is not we?

hey Max, do you want a stogie or a Havana? and will you require matches to go with either or will you chaw it nice and easy does it? but I think the riflemen are getting antsy to your taking your sweet time with the tobacco, and getting incenced that you are spitting the nice dark juice on their nice shiny, shined especially for this event, boots. and as they are not getting paid by the hour. they are gonna see their union about this. nevertheless your poem is a killer and has left no one standing, as you are an exemplary crack shot and left but a few holes in the walls.

...and why then does America claim the exclusive rights to such a claim? It's the unnatural nature of monotheism - so, hands across the water(s) Max :)
(it's made of spaghetti)

Well, its the CROWD which is responsible. The mediocres are clever. They know how to exploit CROWDS psychology.Crowd is a vote bank, after all.
