Nature's Signs

by Maureen Glaude

a chipmunk and a cardinal
and first buds
on the rose bush

hope visits my yard

04/05/2005

Author's Note: This is first sign the rose bush I was given by a poet friend, Juan, weathered the winter well.

It's especially neat to see birds and squirrels or chipmunks feeding together. Really like the close out in that last line; Hope Springs eternal! :o)

Your poem speaks the hint of spring's gradual arrival. I sense your patience and willingness to wait for its full flowering in a few weeks. Spring has swept a tsunami of green into north Texas. It is glorious.
