This Road

by Shonda Creemer

I walk this road of life,
sometimes questioning why.

I turn to You and seek Your ways
yet, it seems all I ever do is cry.

Your promises are so clearly spoken.
Your grace and love abound.

Why then do I feel so broken?
I'm spiraling, spiraling down.

Even though it seems as if I am falling,
I will always reach up and take ahold.

Grasping to fulfill Your calling.
One day Your glory to behold.

Tucked safely in Your nail-scarred hands,
I know I will never fail.

Remembering Your sacrifice,
Your blood-stained cross, Your crown of thorns.
In Your walk, my Gentle Father, I will prevail.
