Funeral by Ava Blu
I walked through as if the wind was chasing me
Unsure of my next move
I was hurrying to get away from your noise
I didn't realize how far I would have to go
Your memory had taken my body over
but my fears had won again
couldn't continue loving you
I ended up inside a cemetery
thinking you wouldn't find me
I knew you were too afraid
I pressed on
knowing my every move was under scrutiny by you
I held your tears inside my hand
held them to help me leave
but as I sit here on this bench
inside this empty graveyard
I grieve
because you made me leave
tears flow though I know you're right behind me
I feel you touch my shoulder
as I look around to see your face
the rain takes you away
as I f a d e
below this grave

| Posted by Shonda Chrissonberry on 03/10/05 at 03:28 AM the graveyard is my heart and I am buried under him ~ this is amazing ~ made me turn inside my memories of him(us) |
| Posted by Paul Marino on 03/19/05 at 07:48 AM that was great. so smooth with the stop and go, with the subtle rhyming. i would like to see, "inside this empty graveyard" be changed to, "inside this empty grave", but in the end the sentiments of this poem carry it through. |
