Bleeding Honey

by Melissa Arel

My hands touched fields of grain, bent
Sowing seeds in poetry’s earth
Rolling written time’s toil
Memories grew with lifelight verse.
Sometimes love bleeds honey
Full as veins of rhyming words
Dead poets’ clay quick to compare
Many grand sonnets heard.
