My Body is a Temple

by Michele Schottelkorb

Within skin cells lives a place

Deep within this inner space

Further down a garden row

Further in his seed did sow

Enter a womb of tranquil light

Enter colours: pink, blue and white

Worship the wee one growing strong

An age of worship ever long

Particles burgeon inside my round

Burgeon touch, sense, sight and sound

This Temple embraces the key to Life

The Temple of Woman, Mother, and Wife.

Author's Note: the one place all humans worship in kind... the Temple of a mother's womb... Writing assignment from a writing group I belong to yielded this piece... the first I have written for the little one... without this "Temple", our kind would cease to exist...

the great experiment has failed, men have ruled the world too long, it is time they abdicate to women, give them a chance to turn this egoistic thing around to a place better suited for gentility. MIchele, you rule.

This is a really beautiful portrayl of life, a woman's life that is.. and the miracle of birthing life.. all three roles being equally important. Great job once again Michele :)

The mystery of life is in your belly... a temple to life, a sanctuary for the universe, a haven for the future, and an uncomfortable nine months to try and bear all this in mind while secretly wishing that that pregnancy wouldn't last quite so long.
