Ravage

by Michele Schottelkorb

Into my realm I bequest you

Enter slowly the lost recesses of my mind

And ravage my defenses

Please

Insatiable desires quenched in a heartbeat

You know, forever means forever

Can you make that promise?

A thousands voices scream into nothing

But we hear them

Feel fingers fleeting far

An iris to ecstasy only imagined before

Now real, within grasp

Are you real?

'Now real, within grasp'...despite the question, this feeling of belonging is so real, how ever subjective is the experience, its a beautiful emotion.

words well chosen from the shards which lay before us shattered, to gather up and dance and dance this does its unfailing ditty, to ask, are you real? as real as the wind is real only when it stirs.

Thought provoking, emotionally stimulating. I especially like these lines: You know, forever means forever Can you make that promise?

Very well done Mich! I can't pick out one or two lines I like better, I like them all...Charlie

Loved the way you broke out the "please" separately - it added so much pleading and desire to both the preceding line and the following one. And of course, the "iris to ecstasy" I concur is a wonderful line. And the question itself - are you really asking it?... [;0)~

If you imagine reality, does it make it any less real? Standing on the precipice between dream and wake, I catch your words and hold them near my heart. Incredible imagery.

Congratulations on POTD, Michele. The surreal, dreamlike urgency is so strongly felt when reading this piece. So very excellent.

There is definitely a fine line dividing both sides to our perception of reality, and you have defended yours with epicurean style. Grrrrrrr! I like the assertiveness of this piece, Michele. Pe4ce...
