pale light of wounded plight

by Michele Schottelkorb

don’t think too much

{sorrow can slaughter}

brain implosion,                                                     s p l a t t e r e d mess

and yes,

it’ll only hurt a lifetime

cry, if it makes you feel better

this speed bump is drivable

I wished upon a falling star

then forgot he’s falling far

but falling stars can climb again

I haven’t lost my falling friend

in the labyrinth of life

he picked the wrong path

but in the thirteenth hour

found it had no power over him

bare broken bloody knees

grace god’s doorstep gleefully

broken dreams and mended seams

make reams of hopeless teams

light the way

my heart a sieve

you are my drug

drain me dry of death

and sustain this matrimony

la luna watches angels weep

through crevices their hearts do seep

would you, could you take my pain?

bridge this dam and steal the rain?

I will stay

by your side

don’t ask me why

I’ll never tell.

Good poem Mich, Sad in a way but well done..Charlie

You are endeavouring to become one with this pain and sadness in notime and well, when this is done it remains just a situation and not a worry. feel happy that you are sad. draw power from this pain. This is the only solace you can have in notime but once you draw this power you are the pain in nopain. You sound so assertive, this is the most beautiful aspect of this beautiful piece.

I like the intricate rhyme scheme as well as your secretive message, Michelle. Good stuf! Pe4ce...

Erratic, yes. But oh so real. Believe it or not (& I know you will) I know this. I know this all too well.
This is one of those "mouth-watering-walk-away-lifting-your-chin-from-the-floor" poems that I love so well. :)

Michele, I can only agree with the comments made. I like this, erratic and all, with the two poems interwoven.

You have such great insight on relationships. Beautifully written with a wisdom that touches the reader's soul.

this is so unmistakeably and so intrigueingly, you, at your most insightful. and that line, DRAIN ME DRY OF DEATH, is one to bowl over the most stubborn of pins.
