Last Person On the Planet

by Bek Williams

Give me a moment
To decide what I want
Cause today came crashing
down around my head

You said you'd be there for
me
If you were needed
I should just give you a call

How did we end up this way?
Pieces of you and me in the
street
How did I fall so hard

For the last person on the planet

I never see you anymore
But that doesn't matter to
my heart
Cause life and love can
shatter in an instant

If I could spend one day
With any one person of my
choice
It would have to be you

How did we end up this way?
Pieces of you and me in the
street
How did I fall so hard

For the last person on the
planet

Welcome, Bek - if this is an example of things to come, then I look forward to reading more of your work. Excellent opening stanza.
