Posted by Ashok Sharda on 12/20/04 at 02:30 AM I would call it the mechanicalness of love when those emotional drives subsides. What remains is a mchanical approach, driveless. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/21/04 at 02:37 PM Wow! Love the title, at first figuring it might refer to keeping a broken heart together, but I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the analogy of the text. Wish I had written this...glad you did! |
Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 03/06/07 at 01:53 PM For some reason, this reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit. "... this static in my heart and my home" ... what an appropriate line here. You've taken an idea and developed it from beginning to end like a fine oiled machine.
Congratulations on your POTD. :) |

Posted by JD Clay on 03/07/07 at 03:48 AM You got me! I should have recognized it when I read the first line, but I got caught up in the emotional body of the poem only to be blindsided with that point-of-no-return closing line. What a ride! Congratulations on becoming The Crafty Poet Of The Day. |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 03/07/07 at 04:31 PM Original and inventive, emotionally inquistitive, accomplished with a patient stickiness to details of the image. I love the looking "and adjusting the light in order to see it again"!
