Autumn's Kiss

by Melissa Arel

Nature has laid out a scarlet carpet for us -
Kings and Queens of the earth.
Leaves crowning our heads with gold,
Adorning our cheeks with Autumn's kiss.
Citris rays anoint our skin with light,
Soft and ethereal
As the trees wave in glorious exaltation.
We are the children of Blessings,
Conceived and birthed in love, adored by the Creator
The celestial Father of all seasons.

The foliage has been absolutely beautiful this year, hasn't it!? It is such a beautiful season and you capture much of it so well here.

I love the feeling within this poem... it is nearly breathtaking, yet calmly reverent. Don't know how you do it, but you capture a walk through the forest in fall and all the good things about the season!

I have to agree with Kate: this poem seamlessly marries your reverence for nature's changes and its colorations with your love of God and does so effortlessly...beautiful poem!
