sensory enchantment: sound by Betania TeschThe parting and sealing of lips
soundtracked our moments
with the liquid song
of tongues flirting
behind teeth
and through lips
advancing and retreating
we listened for signs
of victory:
a sharp, held breath
with a firm exhale
or better
a tenderly muffled moan.
And oh!
The symphony of
whispered pledges
of undying love,
undercut by the
wildly banging snare drum
of my heart beat
as you scraped out
a rhythm on my thighs
drowned out
the shouting
crowds of critics
in my head
if only for a moment
A moment
and I am
helpless against
the frequencies
you transmit
your affection upon,
against the low crackling
of your voice
when you tell me
that my heart is beating,
when you remind me
I'm alive. 10/26/2004 Author's Note: whoa, part three....how am I doing thus far? IN serious need of feedback.

Posted by Kyle Anne Kish on 10/26/04 at 01:03 PM Oh my, this is where I am just beginning. I'll have to go back and read part one and two. Right now though, I'm mighty sure that MY heart is beating! |

Posted by Glenn Currier on 10/30/04 at 06:01 AM The rhythm and pulse is palpable. Although I enjoyed the sensuous body images, my absolute favorite lines are:
"drowned out /
the shouting /
crowds of critics /
in my head /
if only for a moment."
Yes, I too look forward to reading the other two. Quite well done, my dear. Returning to your poetry after a personal drought is like finding a lili floating on the oasis. |
