and the last party before Winter is winding down.
Funny how dead they look
when they're only sleeping.
The SAD is creeping pretty quickly now;
New EnglandÂ’s pride and joyÂ…
I could hear them
through the wind and rain
as they shed their party dresses
whispering,
"Good Winter and sweet dreams of Spring."”
As if they knew
what we all go through in our minds
while they're asleepÂ…
And maybe it will help this year,
but it never has before...
It only makes sense now
through my own wind and rain
to whisper back
"Good winter and sweet dreams of Spring,
but our own internal storms have only just begun."
And perhaps they're all yawning now,
soon they'll pull thick blankets over their heads.
Funny how dead they look
when they're only sleepingÂ…

Very good read - it's the first time I read your work, but I'll be reading more. Funny thing is, that I got an idea for a poem when I was washing, too.

Wonderful stuff. |
