Sonnet No. 3 (Repost) by Kate DemereeTell me what you see when you look at me
Deep inside, behind eyes of darkest blue
A woman whose living in fantasy
Or a heart of innocence who never knew
That dreams are left behind with childhood.
As the amber rays signal day is through
Brilliant red shadows dance where you once stood.
Ghosts of a happier time when I held you.
Cold wind that cries in the shadowed evening
Still weeps with the coming of morning light.
Foolish heart for its continued believing
In wishes granted, dreams outliving the night.
Once in my dreamtime I viewed the brass ring
Will I wake with a tear or learn to sing

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 03/18/05 at 03:00 PM in my dream, you not only wake up with the ring, and not around the collar, but it is worth more than a dollar, and there is no need to holler when it is slipped o'er love's knuckle and may I say dreamer, you are a dream. |

Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/13/09 at 04:17 PM Your sonnet is a thing of beauty. I know how difficult it was for me to write a sonnet, but your's seems so easy and flows so naturally. The love, the sadness and the possibility of resurrection are beautifully written here. Thanks. |
