Dreams (Sonnet No. 2 repost) by Kate DemereeFor me there is no sleep tonight No more escape in dream. Reality My heart must seek in this dawns cruel light. And if alone I must forever be, To walk along this forgotten lane, Then let the fog gather shroud my form. Its cold blanket now become the bane Of my existence. In memories warm Glow you will live forever buried deep Inside of the tomb where once a true heart Dared to chance, take in faith, the leap Then within a ghostly fires glow, the start Of a journey one could never forget Give me fog until this cruel sun is set

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 01/14/05 at 01:07 PM give the fog a chance. to be rapt in it, who knows, perhaps it is the greatest love there ever was and gentle. your words spade deep into the heart and soul and not for naught they dig, but they would seek rapture of no treasure that one could not spend in one lifetime or in one blissful moment. |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/18/09 at 05:44 PM Such courage to peek your head above the fog standing on a sonnet. Thanks for sharing. These moments are so fruitful when someone like you has the grit to write right in the midst of the darkness. You DO pierce the heart with this one, Kate. |
