Posted by Mara Meade on 07/28/04 at 04:28 PM Wow. And there-in can lie a real struggle. You captured the essence of that conversation so well here, Rula! Heh - I need a pocket-Rula to carry with me so I can say as much so compactly! And what I like about this, too, is that it can be applied to so many situations and still be true. |
Posted by Anne Engelen on 07/29/04 at 03:14 PM you really described this well. It's so easy to relate to this. |
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 07/29/04 at 04:39 PM It's just what I've been wondering, of late. What else is there but what we choose to embrace in the course of perception? How much of what we encounter do we really choose? Do we SEE some things and NOT SEE others as a matter of decision? And what about when you and I perceive the same thing, together? I believe the human experience is so much more than we can possibly grasp in any one moment. You've captured this belief so beautifully here, Rula. (I have to say your name, it rolls off the tongue so perfectly!!!) |
Posted by Richard D Frederick on 07/29/04 at 07:58 PM can we ever venture into the unknown? can we undo what has been done? |
Posted by Sarah Graves on 07/29/04 at 08:57 PM This piece topples over some of those universal questions, would we rather be ignorant or aware of this world? Ignorant seems to be the easy way out, when you don't feel responsible for anything because you can't SEE it anyways. On the other hand, being aware, puts you in a responsible situation. I think most people are too lazy to be Aware, and to really see truth. I only wish ignorance can be undone for everyone. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 07/30/04 at 10:35 PM Colorfully worded reminder of how we all, some more than others, white wash our reality. Indeed, much more than love can be blind. Great reminder Rula. |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 08/01/04 at 02:51 AM 'to see in blindness is easier
than to SEE'. The choice is always yours, how ever limited this choice is and so full of conflict. Conflict between to BE or not to be. But.. only when you have walked out of the dream. Can one ever go back to the old dream having once walked out of it? How ever beautiful the dream might be, how ever easy this seeing in blindness is? 'What are we missing that remains elusive....known' Well, there ought to remain an Unkowable for all the time to come. Its our limitation. But then there ought to be a knowable, 'IS' from and within the periphery of our expanded boundaries. Yes, Awareness has got many layers and so is layered, reality. And consciousness can only be attained consciously. The real struggle commences here. The process of UNDOING. |
Posted by Mike Loftis on 09/12/04 at 03:19 AM I am becoming a big fan of yours. I've read this three times now and each time it feels different. Great work. |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 09/14/04 at 04:02 PM such introspection as raises many questions in us as to what we don't see when we are busy seeing.
on this subject Sir Isaac Newton says, " I seem to have been only like a boy, playing on the sea shore and diverting myself, in now and then finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary,
whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me. |

Posted by Jared Fladeland on 03/13/08 at 02:13 PM wonderfulness. I still am so in love with your dissection between conscious/unconcious, or real/unreal. man. sigh. |
