It Goes On

by J. P. Davies

I heard a song escaping
from lips that will not speak
so here's a brand new memory
from one hidden down deep.

It's a melody built of fire
from the depths out from my soul
just listen for a moment
I think you know how it goes...

It goes on...and on
yes life goes on.
From every crimson sunset
to every golden dawn

Yah it moves on
yah life goes on
you can paint a pefect picture
but tomorrow it could be gone

Say I just heard your mother callin'
but you don't have to go home yet
you could stay out here a while more
get to know me for a bit

Because in every waking moment
in every second of your life
you can either be apart of it
or watch it sail on by... it goes

It goes on...and on
yes life goes on.
From every crimson sunset
to every golden dawn

Yah it moves on
yah life goes on
you can paint a pefect picture
but tomorrow it could be gone

Did you ever think today could be
the ending of your time?
Did you ever stop to wonder
at just why you are alive?

There's a place we can live out
old or young, boy or girl
it's a place we've all been
a little spot they call the world

So if you ever get the urge
just come and step outside
you don't need no money
take a spin on this here ride

It goes on
and on
and on
and on

It goes on
and on
and on
and on

i love, love, LOVE this song and can almost hear the music to go with it...it flows so beautifully and the words are so languid and easy, yet thought provoking...awesome, just awesome!

A great pick me up in the middle of a tedious work afternoon. Thanks old man and also for your comment on Happiness Was Once!

your words strike such multiple chords of positivity, and remind me of my own which I have been estranged from now for quite considerable time.
