My Side Of The Bed

by Quinlan L Gibson

My side of the bed, lies different days end
alone in the middle, pillows to contend with large and empty.
Plenty of room to toss and to turn; burn from the yearning
release on my own, slip into the zone of sleep to free me.
Safe and sound on the right, inside of your night
and ever so slight your hand brushes me, sleep tight.
Protect from blackness abyss, this is bliss.
Reaching over you’re there; and I don’t even care
that you take up more room than you should.
I think and I smile; drift to sleep in your arms
at this moment I know life is good.

I totally agree with the others, especially Ginette, about wanting someone to share my bed. Really, it's sensually beautiful. I like it very much.

Oh how I took it for granted. *sigh* Wonderfully done, Quin. :)

Really like the descriptiveness of this Quinlan. For a short poem it says a lot. :o)

I know what you mean, I can't hardly get to sleep by myself anymore. Durn it. Nice to see something from you again. Hope there is more!
