A Rainy Remembrance(Romantic/Blues)

by Vimal Rony

It fell like Cupid's tears.
On the day you left behind
just a coat made of memories
for me to wear in the rain.

As my rain drenched
naked tears shiveringly
came crying down my cheeks,
I offered it shelter
through my parted lips.
For the first time
I tasted salty rain

Now, as the rain falls like
watery beads threaded by
heaven, I wonder whether there
are more holes in the sky
than in my heart,
left punctured by you.

But this perforated heart, I will
hold to the heavens. Letting
each drop seep in through.
Because I still remember us bathing.
Naked in our love scented rain.

Your poem is that salty tear spilled into your mouth awakening your soul and transformed for us to read and love.

Vimal, this is so beautiful and sad at the same time. Memories are such a mixture of emotion --it is good to see you capture that aspect of them. Great read.

I really enjoy poems that use water imagery, and this is no exception. Worthy analogy Vimal.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful and emotional poem. You've given the reader a tremendous sense of "feel" with great use of imagery.
