(answer to JD's limerick challenge) by Anne EngelenI post my poems abroad
cause folks in Belgium, do not
uderstand a word I write
they comment with spite
Thats how my work ended up in this spot
Since then I wake up to this screen
And look for arrows so green
So I can comment as well
When words ring a bell
Poetry, touches me unseen 04/24/2004 Posted on 04/24/2004 Copyright © 2024 Anne Engelen

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 04/24/04 at 11:08 AM well, Belgium should be green with envy for the honours you do us! great limerick, tells the story too. |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 04/24/04 at 03:23 PM yes,'When words ring a bell
Poetry, touches me unseen', well, I can so easily identify with this. And yes, green arrows symbolizes LIFE. An anouncement that the poet is still ALIVE.
hahaha. Nice limerick.

Posted by JD Clay on 04/25/04 at 05:41 PM Your heart-filled limerick is evidence, Angels do exist. It is we, a pathetic mass, who chase in your regale.

Posted by Glenn Currier on 04/26/04 at 12:21 AM It's a cute way of honestly commenting on your relationship with this community. I like the idea of waking up to the screen, the portal you make into our hearts. |
Posted by Rula Shin on 04/26/04 at 05:04 PM Ooh what a lovely limerick response to JD's challenge! And yes, as Ashok says those green arrows are a sign of LIFE...and I feel like I am always looking for them...it seems those green arrows are even in my dreams these days as when I used to turn around colored bricks to place them strategically in place the way I did when I was awake and playing Tetris for hours upon end.....hahahaha :-) Nice write Anne! |
