In search of ABSOLUTE in this endless vastness - 2.

by Ashok Sharda

Infinite is finitely finite

If infinite is part of ABSOLUTE.

If ABSOLUTE is part of infinite

ABSOLUTE is NO absolute.

How big can a big be

Enough to be infinitely big?

How small can be a small

Small enough to be infinitely small?

Can absolute ever bind

The infinity of BIG or SMALL?.

Where does the ABSOLUTE fit in

In this infinitely small SMALL ?

Can this infinitely BIG be bigger than

The infinitely SMALL?

Author's Note: I know where these questions are leading me. The only objective truth I can assume, the source of all the so called relative and subjective truths, a thing called NOTHING. I hope to give this NOTHINGNESS some words, may be in my next venture.

"I hope to give this NOTHINGNESS some words" - I'm looking quite forward to that! Amazing write as always.

Infinitely and absolutely thought provoking; soul searching. Something to pick God's brain with when we finally meet him. :o)

i have had two questions since i was a young child... one, if god has always existed, when did god start and two, what is nothing (because nothing is something)... i have yet to find anyone, nor myself, who can fully answer either of these questions... your poem brings forth these thoughts to me, that i had forgotten... the infinite encompasses the finite as it is limitless... but, in the end is it not just nothing?... and nothing, mind you, has to be something... correct?... once again, you stimulate the mind... sadly, the reality of the human species may just be that we are ultimately nothing... but, we can enjoy this nothingness for what it's worth... and who knows?... you're brilliant... blessings...

This reminds me of one of Einstien’s quotes responding to a woman’s questions concerning his Theory of Relativity. In lay man’s terms, he explained the concept of relativity in this way… (This is my paraphrased version) ”A minute is all too little time to spend within a lover’s arms, but a very long time to spend sitting on a hotplate.” In such a context I wonder whether there is a relative absoluteness – and whether such a scale could answer this conundrum… Nice brain teaser Ashok - a well considered, described and stated conundrum indeed!

wow, this is like a very philosophical Dr. Seuss poem. Now can you say that first line seven times fast without tying up your tongue?

a brilliant mathematical mind, a philosopher of life that writes poetry. what a wonderful gift to the world you are...

I quietly contemplate your thoughts... and look forward to understanding the Nothingness as you see it. You see so much more than I can, but your words are always a hand extended for the journey.

Usually I don't read many of the comments on poems, but you have provoked the beginnings of a tome, my friend. And Thomas Aquinas thought HE was a philosopher! Aristotle, move over. Socrates, meet your match. The only problem is... now I HAVE to read all the comments... so all of my other friends... don't get mad at me if it is a while before I read your work... You amaze, Ashok.
