Trapped Under Truth

by Lori I Wolfe

Tormented is my soul

its journey has steered into darkness

released pain builds with deception

blinding the hidden truth

Slipping now into remorse

pleading to start anew

cries forth with forked tongue

pinning the freed spirit

The glass is breaking

with steps pile in forgotten ash

bitter sweet are the memories

now buried beneath the lies

Cleansing not is the water

bleeds in broken dreams

diseased is the intelligence

crippling the inner mind

Lost in the back roads

searching for an escape

shadows covet the authenticity

while begging to be revealed

The truth is a sleeping beast that wants to be loved for being honest. I like....

I wish I knew where truth was, then I'd know what was lying beneath it, as you say, trapped. then if big fat truth would only budge, I could manage its release and hoping its not a can of worms. Lori, I dig how you wax poetic and philosophic.

Wow. The words: "Slipping now into remorse pleading to start anew" prick me like a rosethorn and pierce my heart. Thought-and-spirit-provoking poem, Lori.

They say "The truth will Out." I am glad you brought this one out. Well done Lori...Charlie
