the pity party by Michele Schottelkorbthe pity party has begun
{i wish, i wish, with all my might
to fade away, away from sight}
it seems to me that you have won
trouble is, i want to fight
{neon eyes my heart does shun
baking in the blistering sun}
and suffer wrath despite the light
if the motion of the sea
{you know, your plan is very clear
just waiting for a tempted ear}
can sense what is meant to be
then I must now rest my fear
{a salted tear I give to thee
my poor decrepit little tree}
and keep my enemy very near. . .

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 03/11/04 at 03:18 AM I've heard and sometimes followed that practice, of keeping close to the enemy. Powerful and effective piece |

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 03/12/04 at 11:53 AM I love the echo in this. the duality, the inserting of one poem, one mood within the other. and you did it with great effect. for some reason, Michele, while I was reading it, I sensed Milton. |
