Posted by Glenn Currier on 02/23/04 at 01:18 AM Here's hoping that the bleeding clots into healing and wholeness. Your poem expresses my occasional (thank God) blood-letting when I have laid myself bear in front of a group and they carve on me, not realizing the pain they cause. Thanks, Anne. |
Posted by Maureen Glaude on 02/23/04 at 01:33 AM the pain behind this one brings me tears too. powerful, and so sad |

Posted by Rula Shin on 02/23/04 at 04:36 PM Wow, such power in simplicity. The image of the viscerated body, the pain and agony of "Vivisected heart and soul" is so vivid - As the reader I so easily could project myself to this agonizing scene. The tragedy and searing pain of the piece is multiplied by the form as Mike said. There is no escaping the emotion when poetry is stripped down to a few key choice words that compell you to freeze in comprehension...the less here is so much more. Wonderful portrayal! :-)

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 02/25/04 at 02:15 PM In a nutshell so true, but I like to think the bleeding also encompasses tears of joy. |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 02/25/04 at 02:19 PM a powerfull minimal emerging out of a state of an emotional crisis. This is bleeding. I can feel the pain and the agony. |
Posted by Rusty C Arquette on 02/25/04 at 05:53 PM What can I say? In this world of pain, having been through it myself, all I can do is offer the perrenial shoulder for comfort and sincere words of encouragement to keep you smiling! - RCat (Official Funny Guy!) |
Posted by Max Bouillet on 02/25/04 at 07:44 PM This is so dark and vibrant at the same time! Very well crafted. |
Posted by Jeanne Marie Hoffman on 02/26/04 at 05:43 PM 12 words, but I could write on and on about it. But, I'll simply say short with a punch stronger than a direct hit to the ribs |
Posted by JD Clay on 02/27/04 at 02:05 PM A circumnavigation of your mind, this concise piece encompasses alpha and omega. I can relate, and feel your pain.
