neon world by Michele Schottelkorb
we journey down a destined path
pre-made, pre-packaged, pre-dicted
songs become hits, garbs are fashion
bounce through this neon world
laced with neon faces
mortality rears its unavoidable head
in the face of gluttony
so, contemplate, and emulate
the writing on the wall
to be or not to be
one with the majority
can prove a daunting taxing decision
I choose to pull the plug on neon philosophy
how about you? 02/21/2004 Author's Note: a friend and i, in high school, came up with the idea of "neon" people... people who basically exist, but have not greater depth than that... i'm thinking of expounding on this idea in the future and have been wanting to write about the "neon" world for a very long time... here's the first piece...

Posted by Jean Mollett on 02/25/04 at 05:24 AM Hi Michele,
neon world, hey that pretty much sums it up now-a-says. To many greedy companies and people in this world. This is a new folder for you. Very good and quite clever. Good idea on this one. this is going to be very interesting. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 04/29/04 at 04:44 PM LOL! I was almost ready to say I disagree with your philosophy, then happily read those last two lines. Nice work, fellow "mover and shaker." |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 01/31/05 at 01:45 PM this topic of conformity for conformity's sake is really one close to my heart and my pet peave. It is one thing to have conformity, for the sake of community, but only as a tool to communicate on the lowest, most basic levels and not for adoption as a lifestyle. I'm glad there are people such as you that shake off such fetters. |
