I was dead and buried for ages.

by Ashok Sharda

I was dead

And buried

For ages.

It was in Proxima Centauri

That a restless heart oscillated

Transmitting undulations of love

Causing my heart

To throb

To sing

The three words of

Joy beauty and love.

I was dead

And inert

Beyond hopes

An inquisitive mind

Eager and agitated

Dug me out

Handing me a fresh lease of life

Granting me leave

To choose myself one more time

For a task

Set for both of us

An attainment

A ray of hope.

 I was dead

A relic

For exhibition.

A sleeping soul

Walking out of a beaten dream

Determined with a definite aim

Shook me awake and said

We can start afresh

Together in togetherness

On the pathless path

Unwalking the unwalked

To a destination

Which is right here and now

Where no body ever arrived

I was dead a moment ago

And here I am

Pulsating with life

Hand in hand

Soul with soul

With my Soul-mate

As one soul

One hope

One goal.

This verse is so uplifting and shows the power that can be derived from those special people that help hold our hand when we let ourselves get too far down. Excellent verse my good man!

Really dig the positive message of rebirth here, that often only another soul can bring. Namaste!

I have no words except "I understand."

yes, it's so inspirational and positive. it really sings of the contrast between what was, and the hope for what is now and will be. so very affirming :)

There was the void, until the void was filled and overflowing. Feast or famine, sometimes, but ecstasy none-the-less. The glory bestowed upon us by those who are merciful, those who find us beautiful when we are dying...

Ashok, the tender joy you express in your poem is multiplied by the positives it inspired for your fellow poets, reflected in the comments. A beautiful way to start my day, thanks to you:o)

If ever a philosopher proved himself a poet...so I think you've just done so my friend :)

Ashok, this is totally incredible. Sometimes it takes a hand reaching into our self-made prison to pull us out. Yet, we have to have the willingness to reach back. CONGRATULATIONS on POTD!

Soulmates when found can surely give us a new lease on life. But more than that, finding a relationship with God thru Jesus Christ brings Life!
