Fear of the unseen

by Ashok Sharda

Fear of the unseen.

I projected the past

On to the future

I closed all unseen possibilities.

Author's Note: This is just to fill in the gap to walk out of a trap.

Hahaha! Good escape Ashok! Brilliant little thought you so poetically jotten down here :-) Projecting the past onto the future seems a brilliant technique for reducing fear of the unseen. But I fear that I know it's just a projection...haha :-)

ah, to live in the past is to not give the future a chance... as always, brilliantly said, my friend... blessings...

very true, I have experienced this too.. it is important to keep the future fresh and open even when there are patterns

Profound echo of FDR's "the only thing to fear is fear itself."

This is useful to me in my starting a new job, or bringing a new poem to critique class. Or even thinking of the future. It is a bad habit to remember past failures, which color hope. Thanks.

This is a landmark poem, charting the foibles of foisting the past into our present foreclosing possible futures.

Hi Ashok, Good one. Maybe we shouldn't dwell to much, take each day as it comes. Not worry so much.
