the Marriage of Baggett

by Michele Schottelkorb

Look to the stars, my dear

Our hearts now bonded near

No longer two

With a simple “I do”

The Marriage of Baggett is here

Eight years of unfaltering love

Christened by words of a dove

Two hearts intertwined

Rings of gold do shine

Gazing softly to Heaven above

January twenty third is the day

Family and friends together do pray

Solidify this pact

This righteous act

Duke and Andi become one today

A couple like this is rare

Just, compassionate and fair

Bonded forever

In good and bad weather

This Life and beyond they will share

The Marriage of Baggett

Author's Note: this is written for and dedicated to my best friend, Andi Slosing... last night, in a beautiful, intimate ceremony, she was married to the awesome Duke Baggett... i am blessed to have witnessed this union... here is my poem for them...

heavenly, this speaks from the rare visited spaces of the spirit and how fortunate is Duke to have struck the motherload and how fortunate is Andi to have friendship such as yours.

This is a tremendous verse that shows tribute to a wonderful person. Great read and way to immortalize a timeless occasion.
