The Poe Toaster (haiku) by David R Spellman
Poe's birthday –
cognac and roses left hush
your tell-tale heart

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 01/27/04 at 05:34 PM Intruguing says this Poe fan. I've always admired his story The Premature Burial, kind of a metaphor of his own tragic demise. |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 02/23/04 at 02:38 AM Ha! Great tribute to one of the masters. He is the first poet I really fell in love with. He awakened the poet in me. Thanks for this, David. |
