dance around the maypole

by Michele Schottelkorb

dance around the maypole
sip a witch's brew
gaze into the moonlight
to yourself be true

listen to the echo
carried on a breeze
learn from one another
with gentle loving ease

dream upon a midnight
draw a star in sand
respect all earthly creatures
tread lightly on the land

harm none in your crossings
give three of what you take
live in peace forever
true Life you'll surely make

Excellent philisophical poem to start a new year! Thanks for posting this Michele.

thank you MIchele for this poetic formula. hopefully we are not too blind with shiny bauble or deaf with cellphones to heed its omen.

excellent advice for anyone wishing to begin the new year with a new leaf upturned.

This reads like a simple version of the Rede. Beautiful!
