ahhh, a sort of riddle. i've read that's a technique in haiku writing (in that context it was the last line that answered the riddle of what the first two lines were doing). here the whole thing is a riddle for 'diary' is my guess? this strikes me as a philosophical description of a special object...it gives me a warm feeling and makes me think of my past 15 years' worth of journals :)

Makes me think of the Holy Bible (Judeo-Christian)! Very personal, very warm, very comforting.
