A Reborn Writer’s Magic 8-Ball

by Leslie Ann Eisenberg

Q. Can I go back to the way I was before?
A. Don’t count on it

Q. Will my friends and family support my artistic endeavors?
A. It’s decidedly so

Q. What if I’m afraid?
A. Ask again later

Q. But, when I write, will I lose my mind??
A. Outlook not so good

Q. Will I become famous?
A. Reply Hazy. Try again

Q. Will I have enough time to write what I need to write, when I want to write?
A. As I see it, yes!

Q. Am I grounded, for life?
A. Outlook not so bad

Author's Note: Writing in a teenaged boy's treehouse during a workshop, and guess what I found? Talk about nostalgia!

I've heard of found poems before, but this nicely takes the cake. Kudos!

Hahahahaha! This is hilarious. I have the new updated version from Sharper Image. I ask it questions like this all the time. Never ever thought about writing about it. Brilliant concept.

this is indeed quite the interesting piece. it teeters somewhere on the brink of prose and poetry, but whatever you want to call it, it is a very clever and ingenious piece of.. writing. (bad joke alert) Q. is this a nifty, spiffy piece? A. All signs point to yes!... heh. warned you. anyways, keep it up. peace:a
