Once in that Blue Moon by Maureen GlaudeOnce in that blue moon
'ya gotta go for it -
that sit-back & have a cup of coffee
with a piece of cherry cheesecake moment
that mothers & wives, serve yourselves first
at the supper table for once kind of moment
once in that blue moon 'ya gotta
fill the bubblebath tub past the overflow mark even if it drives him nuts
read one more chapter when you're wanted
by the laundry load
put on your nail polish wherever you like
and accept no complaints about the fumes
go without a lung-abusing, pain-in-the back bra
even in a jersey, for your walk outside
keep on the brand new pair of pantyhose
after contorting your way in and
rolling them up painstakingly, only
to find a run
wink back at that sexy, really nice-seeming guy
even if you're middle-aged, unavailable
just because...
(afterall it's just a wink, if you know how,
like some of us don't)with no harm intended
that - place your line break where you want, even if you know you're gonna hear it comes way too late, kinda moment
that - I know I shouldn't but I'm gonna anyways
get another word in before my sister does
cause if I don't, I'll forget my point
kinda moment.
Once (well, ok, maybe twice)
in that blue moon
'ya gotta
Oh my! Watch out Shirley Valentine
