man as god.

by Andrew S Adams

Lacerated hands choke the remaining blood from the fountains of ventricles, engorging the lowly with sustinance...

what a quiet dissection have we breathed in-
a dream of beauty defied for a dream of
modern artistic creativity-
a falling bomb big enough to crush a colony of ants,
the foot has become a microcosm for the symbol of the apocalypse.
and we will take a photograph,
inverted, devoid of color
shred into innumerable fragments
replaced with itself, mismatched, the scattered
pieces float to the surface of the earth
where the insects shall collect and use as function
what we created out of sheer love,
and destroyed out of sheer self-disgust.

translocate these pieces,
discovered by the next messiah.
giver of shelter, taker of life,

artist of the most frustrated kind.

Fascinating poem. The multiple images and movement are quite thought-provoking as is the title... which is what attracted me to the piece. You invite me into a world that seems both very familiar and surreal at the same time. Good work, Andrew.
